                       WORK TERM: MAY THROUGH AUGUST

          HOURLY WAGE: $14.00 - $15.00 PER HOUR

           HOURS: 40 HOURS PER WEEK


Reporting to the Manager of Parks & Recreation and the Parks & Recreation Foreman, the Summer Student position will be responsible for the safe day to day operation
of Parks & Recreation facilities and grounds within the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand.


  • Enrolled full time in a secondary or post secondary institution for the 2019/2020 academic year
  • Available to work some evenings and weekends as required
  • Employee to provide own CSA approved safety footwear


  • Grooming & chalking of ball diamonds
  • Garbage collection
  • Grass cutting and trimming
  • Painting
  • Trail maintenance
  • Open and close the facility, ensuring alarms are set and doors are locked/unlocked, etc.
  • Cleaning of indoor facilities (sweep, wash floors, vacuum, wash windows/doors, clean washrooms/change rooms, empty garbage, etc.)
  • Set up meeting rooms for user functions including weddings, dances, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Municipal Treasurer Position

the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand is seeking a Full Time Municipal Treasurer.

Municipal Treasurer – Permanent, Full Time

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer/Clerk, the Municipal Treasurer is responsible for performing the statutory duties of the Municipal Treasurer as the Chief Financial Officer, with responsibility for the overseeing of all monetary activities of the municipality.

Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following:

Ten years of financial/accounting experience with five years in a supervisory capacity;

Degree or diploma in a discipline such as Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field of study is preferred. However, an acceptable combination of education, training and experience will be considered;

 Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation from Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario is required;

Human Resources - Treasurer Position

Public Works Summer Students Contract, Full Time

The Public Works Summer Students are responsible assisting in the maintenance of road surfaces and roadsides, as well as traffic control.
This includes, but is not limited to, duties such as:

  • • Road patching;
  • • Surface treatment;
  • • Picking up debris and litter from roadsides;
  • • Flagging;
  • • Sweeping operations;
  • Forestry operations brushing / tree inventory;
  • Sign repairs; and
  • • Hand digging and back filling where necessary for groundwork
