Municipal By-Law No.113-2016 Open Air Burning. A signed copy of this document is available at the municipal office through the Chief Building Official/Municipal By-Law Enforcement Officer at 905-349-2822 Ext 27.
Any person setting an open-air fire in the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand shall be responsible for any damage to property or injury to persons occasioned by the said open air fire, and; be liable for all costs incurred by the Fire Department of the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand, including the costs of all personnel, equipment and apparatus responding to extinguish the said open-air fire. In addition to the costs above, a fine will be levied to the person responsible up to $5,000.00 under the Provincial Offenses Act, (Ontario).
Any persons who is planning a controlled fire is advised to notify Fire Administration Office at 905-349-2542 to supply the appropriate documentation required by By-Law #113-2016.
